Music at the Casa presents: Rev. Shawn Garvey

Rev. Garvey holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Long Island University, and a Master of Divinity Degree from Andover Newton Theological School.  Rev. Garvey has been an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ since 2001, and before coming to FCCWP he served churches in Vermont, Massachusetts and New Jersey.  He is married to his wife Kathy, and they have two boys, Ryan and Cooper.

An avid musician, singer and songwriter, Rev. Garvey has led retreats, conferences, and acted as a consultant on Alternative Worship to local churches.  He has composed original music for Annual Meeting Worship services as well as composed, arranged, produced and performed on 3 albums of original material. 

He has performed with Livingston Taylor, Mary Fahl, Rick Elias, has opened for Marshall Crenshaw, and performed an annual John Denver Tribute concert with Denver’s former lead guitar player Steve Weisberg who played on 7 of Denver’s 9 platinum albums.

Brian Hayes performs regularly as a classical guitarist both in concert and at a variety of venues and special events throughout Florida. His exceptional musicality and technical proficiency delights listeners and, along with his engaging and professional manner, has given Brian the reputation as Central Florida’s premier classical guitarist for weddings, anniversaries, private parties, corporate functions, banquets, conventions, festivals and resorts. His extensive selection of music includes Classical, Renaissance, Baroque, Romantic, Spanish and contemporary, consisting of advanced pieces by composers such as Francisco Tarrega, Heitor Villa Lobos, Agustin Barrios and Luiz Bonfa, in addition to many solo guitar arrangements of the works Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Bach, George Bizet and many others. With hours of repertoire, Brian tailors the style and volume of music to suit each event. From high-end fundraisers to intimate celebrations, nothing is too elaborate or simple for the touch of a classical guitar.

Master Storyteller Tim Totten returns to share his encyclopedic knowledge of America’s famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Focusing on Wright’s Florida work such as Florida Southern College and Tallahassee’s Spring House, Totten shows us how Wright affected architecture in the Sunshine State.

• Free admission, donations are welcomed.

• Reception begins at 6:30 p.m. Programs will begin at 7 p.m. followed by questions and discussion. Space is limited.

Music at the Casa presents: Omar Miguel

Omar Miguel aka "El nino de la isla", (The boy from the island), was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. Omar studied Flamenco and Classical Guitar with world renown guitar artists like, Juan Serrano, Omar Blanco, Paco Pena and Juan Diego Mateos.

Omar Miguel has composed many pieces for the guitar and has performed for numerous restaurants, events and hotels including The Gaylord Palms, The Latin Quarter at Universal Studios, EPCOT, Disney World The Bob Carr Performing Arts Center, and has toured the American gypsies flamenco dance tour in 2006; he has also performed with Raquel Tacon and her flamenco dance company. Omar Miguel is also the founder of the flamenco fusion group Fusion Gitana at ceviche tapas bar and grill in Orlando from 2008 to 2012.

Music at the Casa presents: Lisa Ferrigno

Lisa Ferrigno has been Concertmaster of the Brevard Symphony in Melbourne, Florida since 1999. A native of New England, she received her musical training at the New England Conservatory in Boston, the Eastman School of Music in New York, and Florida State University. Ms. Ferrigno has appeared as soloist with Trujillo’s Orquesta Sinfónica and Orquesta Camara del Festival Internacional Bach as well as the Florida Symphony and Orlando Philharmonic Orchestras. As a chamber musician, Ferrigno has performed in recitals and festivals in New York, California, Florida, Vermont, Michigan, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Colorado. Internationally she has performed in the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and Germany.

Ms. Ferrigno has served as Concertmaster of the Walt Disney World Orchestra since 1996 and was Concertmaster of the Orlando Philharmonic from 1993-2003. She was a member of the Florida Symphony and Rochester Philharmonic Orchestras, Concertmaster of the Heidelberg Castle Opera Festival in Germany, Principal Second Violinist of the Glimmerglass Opera Orchestra in New York, and Principal Second Violinist of the Palm Beach Pops.
