The mission of the Friends of Casa Feliz—to support the stewardship
and preservation of our community’s rich and historic resources through
education and advocacy—is timelier now than it ever has been. As
a historic home museum, Casa Feliz stands as a beacon to historic preservation
in Central Florida. Every person who steps through our doors, numbering more
than 10,000 this year between our open houses and private rentals, leaves
with an appreciation for the value of preserving our community’s architectural
treasures. Our annual James Gamble Rogers
II Colloquium on Historic Preservation is sponsored by the Friends of Casa
Feliz, to recognize the importance of valuing and sustaining our community’s
precious architectural and historic resources. We celebrate the legacy
of architect Gamble Rogers (1901-1990), designer of Casa Feliz, now a home
museum listed on the National Register of Historic Places. “Art at the Casa” and "Music
at the Casa" feature
the work of local artists and musicians. Hundreds of people from the community
come not only to appreciate exquisite paintings and beautiful music, but
also to explore the Casa Feliz historic home museum and the James Gamble
Rogers II Studio which is a permanent exhibit on Casa Feliz's first floor
showcasing the life and work of the preeminent Winter Park architect. Your donation will not only support future
projects like these but will also help maintain the structure of Casa Feliz,
which will undergo major roof repairs this summer. As always, Casa Feliz
receives no taxpayer funding, and relies wholly on rental revenue and the
generous support of our patrons to meet our budget. Please take a moment
to print and complete a pledge card (link on Friends page), and return it
along with your contribution. We
look forward to working together to support historic preservation in our
community!
