2009 JGR II COLLOQUIUM ON HISTORIC PRESERVATION
Patrick and Debra McClane explored the contributions of James Gamble Rogers II to the residential landscape of Central Florida. They lead the audience on a pictorial tour of Rogers’ inimitable design aesthetic, focusing on some of the area’s most beautiful homes.
Patrick W. McClane is a principal architect with Smith and McClane Architects in Richmond, Virginia. In 1998 he received an Award of Merit from the Association of University Architects for his work on the Jepson Alumni Center at the University of Richmond. He worked at Rogers, Lovelock & Fritz during Gamble Rogers’ last years in practice.
Debra McClane is a private consultant in architectural history and historic preservation, and a contributing author to Buildings of Virginia: Tidewater and Piedmont, a volume in the buildings of the United States series. She prepared Casa Feliz’s successful application to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
